  • 4 hot dog buns split-top buns work best
  • 4 hot dogs
  • 4 slices cheese cheddar, American, or preferred choice
  • 2 tbsp butter softened

Optional Toppings

  • mustard, ketchup, relish or toppings of choice

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the air fryer to 370°F (188°C) for 2-3 minutes to ensure even cooking.
  • Spread softened butter on the outside of each hot dog bun for a crispy texture.
  • Place a slice of cheese inside each bun, then add a hot dog in the center. For extra cheesiness, add another half-slice on top.
  • Place the assembled hot dogs in a single layer in the air fryer basket to allow for even cooking.
  • Air fry at 370°F for 4-6 minutes, flipping halfway through at the 2-3 minute mark for even crisping.
  • Once golden brown and crispy, remove from the air fryer using tongs. Let them cool for 1-2 minutes before serving.
  • Serve with mustard, ketchup, relish, or any favorite toppings.

Notes

For extra flavor, sprinkle garlic powder or Italian seasoning on the buttered buns before air frying.
