  • cotton candy flavoring
  • pink and blue food coloring gel preferred

Frosting Ingredients

  • butter softened
  • powdered sugar
  • cotton candy flavoring
  • pink and blue food coloring gel preferred

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease cake pans and line the bottoms with parchment paper.
  • Beat butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time. In a separate bowl, mix flour and baking powder.
  • Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Stir in cotton candy flavoring.
  • Divide batter into two bowls. Add pink coloring to one, blue to the other. Mix and pour into pans.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.
  • For frosting, beat softened butter until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar, then flavoring and coloring.
  • Layer and frost the cakes, using pink and blue frosting for a swirl effect. Decorate with sprinkles or cotton candy just before serving.

Notes

Use gel food colors for vibrant hues without thinning the batter. Add cotton candy on top right before serving to prevent melting. Cake layers can be baked a day in advance.
