Mozzarella Cheesesteak Stromboli

This Mozzarella Cheesesteak Stromboli combines thinly sliced steak, melty mozzarella, and caramelized veggies wrapped in golden pizza dough. A perfect game-night dish or family-friendly dinner, it's crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside!

Ingredients
  

Filling

  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 small onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and black pepper to taste

Assembly

  • 1 refrigerated pizza dough or homemade stromboli dough
  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg for egg wash
  • 1 tbsp water for egg wash
  • optional toppings sliced mushrooms, provolone, hot sauce, marinara for dipping

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high. Add steak, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Sear 3–5 min.
  • Add onions and bell peppers. Cook 5–7 min until soft and caramelized. Let filling cool.
  • Roll dough into a 12×14 inch rectangle. Place steak and veggie mix in center, top with mozzarella and optional provolone.
  • Fold in sides, roll into a log. Seal seam and place seam-side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Cut 3–4 slits on top.
  • Whisk egg with water and brush over stromboli. Bake for 20–25 min or until golden brown. Tent with foil if browning too fast.
  • Cool 5–10 min before slicing. Serve with marinara, aioli, or ranch.

Notes

Customize with chicken, extra veggies, or spice it up with jalapeños. Prep ahead and refrigerate before baking. Great for freezing too!
